Glencoe
Today we made a special mid-holiday day trip back to Edinburgh. This was for Mr hazelh to attend a dental appointment about the toothache that he has suffered for the past 11 days, i.e. since the first evening of our holiday on 25th June. In total we travelled 270 miles, and spent 7.5 hours in the car.
The journey wasn't as bad as feared. The weather was fine, there were no hold-ups, and the radio programmes that I downloaded for listening along the route kept us well entertained. We made the most of a couple of hours at home before the appointment. We checked the garden, filled the bird feeders, chatted to a neighbour, and mowed the lawn.
The 10 minutes of dental treatment (for now) amounted to an X-ray and a prescription for antibiotics to prevent the development of an abscess at the site of the dead nerve. Mr hazelh will undergo root canal surgery on 27th July.
We were back in Appin in good time to resume our holiday with dinner of steak and chips at the Old Inn.
We passed (twice) through some beautiful Scottish scenery on our journey today. I took my blip in Glencoe from the car window. I should explain that it was Mr hazelh who was driving at at the time.
Exercise today: small amount of walking (7469 steps).
