Seen outside . . .

. . . a Service Station on the M6 (maybe), can’t remember which one. We only ever stop for coffee and loos and are in and out very quickly.

It has become quite amusing though as Gordon always goes for the coffee - usually Costa - and always asks for the same thing - ‘a double espresso in two cups’ (much cheaper than two single espressos). At first, quite a while ago now, staff looked a bit askance, not sure that they could do this. Then, as time went on, they decided they could. Today the lady behind the counter said’: ‘Oh yes I can do that’.

Some thoughts

a) We are probably the only ones who ever ask for an espresso anyway.
b) Possibly Gordon is the only one to ever try this and yet it has obviously reached management level and someone has had to agree that this is okay
c) In the end we are only getting what would be considered normal in a French service station - and probably still more expensive than there
d) On the odd occasion that we have to complain that our espresso is not served in an espresso cup, we are told that they get stolen. If no one else drinks espressos, what are they doing with the espresso cups?

PS
Rats - sinking ships. (Nothing to do with coffee)
