Quod oculus meus videt

Crossing Warden

I have a routine now, when I go for a swim first thing.  If I complete a mile I 'reward' myself with a bacon butty and coffee from Greggs in the high street and sit in one of the small parks in the sunshine to eat it.

For whatever reason I hadn't seen the crossing warden there before (maybe I was a little later than usual).  It brought back memories of a lovely lady who was our crossing warden when I was at primary school in Birmingham.  It was year's later when I met her again at a golf club function, as it transpired that she was the mother of another member I played with from time to time.

Work continues on the house, hopefully nearing an end.  We had my cousin and husband join us for dinner to catch up after recent holidays.
