4th. of July Parade...

...for our city. As part of Mae winning "Little Miss Polish Fest" she got to be in the parade today, (she's on the left), but it was a near miss. I got a text at 5:30 this morning from my daughter letting me know she was in the E.R. with flank pain. They found a kidney stone which luckily passed from the ureter into the bladder, so at least she didn't need a ureteroscopy to remove it. Her pain subsided & the doctor felt she'd be able to pass it eventually, so they sent her home, with just enough time for her to get Mae ready and take her to the parade. About 45 minutes after the parade ended, the rain started, beginning with a fine mist but escalating to a full downpour! Many people tried to wait it out at the park where all the food and games were, but when it didn't stop a great number of people left--us included. It later stopped for about an hour, but is now back to pouring down, so needless to say the fireworks have been cancelled. Such a shame, as that's the best part!  :)
