Big Bag.

The 150th Open is making it’s mark on St Andrews like never before, from the outskirts, around the town, and all over the Old Course.

The Big Bag Trail is a great initiative! Budding artists from Madras College school and St Leonards school were commissioned by Callaway Golf and St Andrews Links to design a St Andrews inspired golf bag which will be used by Callaway Staff Professionals competing at the 150th Open this month. The artist for this bag is 13 year old Lily from Madras College. A new St. Andrews walking trail with map App has also been launched, the bags are at key locations in the town. We’ve seen a few of them now. These pieces of artwork will be auctioned off for charity, that’s good. The artist said part of her inspiration came when she was at the beach. It’s nice that this bag is at the end of the West Sands near the Royal and Ancient Golf Club Clubhouse, spectator stands and Open Spectator Village. We walked to the far end of the beach; very pleasant - and dry after a showery morning.

This evening we watched the first test of Scotland Rugby tour to Argentina on TV. A disappointment. Beaten 26-18. Ultimately if a team does’t have or keep the ball, it’s hard to play. Possession is fundamental.

Our family visiting Shetland had a fine day. Their photos were great.
