Ravine Flyer II

Jill and I drove to an amusement park that's new to us. Waldameer in Erie, Pennsylvania, was a pretty little park with old-school charm. Parking and the entrance are free. We got wristbands and rode the five coasters, including the standout, pictured. Ravine Flyer II is really fun. It's like a miniature Voyage. It's got great airtime and a twisted layout.

This park was so fun, we might make another visit this year. It's about 4 hours away. This was our 11th park this year.

In extras: The Idora Park Experience, our first stop of the day. It's a private museum dedicated to Idora Park, an amusement park in Youngstown, Ohio, that closed in 1984 after a fire. The owners are closing the museum and selling their home, so its future is uncertain.

Also in extras: Comet, a children's roller coaster at Waldameer. I really enjoyed it.
