Top dressing in the wet

On Friday I blipped the delivery of the chuckies  (as they are called in the West of Scotland)  for the drive up to our house which needs a new top dressing every five or so years. 

For the first time  the stones have come form the Furnace quarry and have a nice slightly reddish colour when wet  - which will  be their normal state here .

I had to go out before the final load was delivered and spread, so was able to get a "before" and "after" picture, which is quite dramatic .   

Anyway we  are now nicely dressed again now,  for a while at lest !
