Canada Day. 

A year ago today I had my first chemotherapy session. I wanted today to be very different, a day full of joy, and it was. We went to Brixton for delicious Japanese food - a place we haven’t been to since late 2019 - and it felt so good to be back. The sun shone and all was right with the world.

Despite it being a lovely day, there wasn’t much Canada until later on. BBC 4 obliged by showing a concert with kd lang. We share the same hometown and I was lucky to see her many times before she came to national attention, never mind international attention. It was great to round off the day with kd and to hear some old favourites.
