Boldly going backwards

So. I tried a different Halfords today, Tonbridge. The bloke took a look and crawled about and suggested that it might need to go into a garage to go up on a ramp but then, deus ex machina, he was in. He said that he'd check the bulb first and came back to say that the bulb was fine so he cleaned the bulb holder and it all worked! Because we didn't need the new bulbs the whole job didn't cost me anything - there doesn't appear to be a mechanism by which they can charge for labour alone.

Less luck with the radio. He had a look and I need a fascia - they don't stock one for Peugeots because... French car. I've ordered one and ordered a radio (from Halfords) to be delivered to that store. I'll go over later in the week and see if we can get it all together.

Being over that way I decided to head to RTW (Royal Tunbridge Wells) to grab a railway image and some shopping. This building is a western-themed restaurant now but when it opened, in 1866, it was Tunbridge Wells railway station. It was renamed Tunbridge Wells West when Tunbridge Wells Central opened in the 1920s. In its heyday, in the mid-1950s, this station saw136 passenger trains each weekday and 9 goods trains. The station closed in 1985, not a direct victim of the Beeching cuts but impacted by a reduction in traffic as the stations and lines it served closed under Beeching's axe. 

Look at the scrumptious details around the windows and the cupola on top of the clocktower. It was called  "St. Pancras of the Weald" - a lovely building
