Treat to self

Yesterday at Harlow Carr we bought this lovely Calla Lily.

As we have two troughs and three pots of them coming up (nearly 40 in total)  that may seen a bit crazy! The ones we have are predominantly deep pink with a few almost black and lovely though they are we thought a bit of bright colour might be introduced with these next year. In the meantime we’re just enjoying them in the pot.
I think some of them were gifts when I had a retirement BBQ which coincided with Chris’s 60th birthday some years ago so they have done well to last. Thanks to those friends who bought them!

There was a wonderful array of them for sale at Harlow Carr - extra.

In the blip you can just see the Vanille Fraise hydrangea flowering behind them. Just starting to turn pink. We bought another last year so we could have one either side of the steps. It’s full of healthy looking leaves but no flowers!
