Mahonia

Our old Mahonia has been dying off over about five years. We've removed big portions of it, as it sends up many new starts, a natural thing, I guess, in its effort to keep going.
Now we are trying to decide which start to keep, to become the main, and hopefully only, one.
It's called Oregon Grape (and is the State flower), and after producing small yellow blooms, makes beautiful grapes. They're edible, but pretty sour. Just pick one, put it into your mouth, let it sit until it bursts or dissolves giving you one hit of juice and flavor, and spit it out.  A daily ritual right now, until they shrivel up.
