Double header
We have lots of these in our garden (unfortunately) but only one like this. It's probably quite common but the first time I've seen a double headed dandelion! This one comes from a small patch in the old field, just over the fence from the garden, in which we tried to keep the weeds down. Strangely, there are none elsewhere in the field - perhaps they never had a chance competing with the brambles and nettles but don't think we would want to try this remedy in the garden!
Today, apart from a couple of brief light showers, was bright and breezy - ideal conditions for another bonfire. So, some more of the accumulated stacks from clearing the ground have disappeared - it was particularly satisfying to see how well ivy burns, now that it's had a chance to dry out! And there's still quite a bit more to get rid of. We also moved a large clump of snowdrops that had multiplied on the top of the rockery to various parts of the field to give the daffodils some company.
