A SPECIAL PARTY FOR THE 300TH SILLY SATURDAY

Hello lovely Blippers,

We noticed this week that Donald was looking rather sad, but didn’t know why. However last night when we asked him, he said it was because he and his family always had a party on the Saturday nearest to 4th July – and because he was here in the UK, and his family was over in the US, they wouldn’t be able to have their usual party.

Well, we couldn’t let him go on being sad could we? So we decided we would buy some food and would have a big party for him – and of course with 16 of us it would be a BIG party and today is a VERY special Silly Saturday because it is the 300th!

We also realised that today in the UK it is National Meadows Day so because Mr and Mrs HCB are trying to grow a meadow in their garden, we thought we would have the party out there. Actually today it’s a bit silly because it’s not sunny, it's quite windy and not that warm – but nevertheless we decided that it might cheer Donald up.

Of course, we needed some flags, so Mrs HCB very kindly made some for us - but we wonder if you can spot the flag that shouldn't be there?  There’s always one who wants to be different and today, it was Snowy.

So here we are, in the lovely garden belonging to Mr and Mrs HCB, having fun, food and frolicking in the grass and believe me, it's so cold out here that we need to keep moving.  We think that Admirer would’ve enjoyed this – and of course, this is especially in honour and memory of her and for once it’s not really that silly!

We’re not quite sure what games we will be playing after we’ve eaten all our food, but there’s sure to be hide and seek, because there are lots of good places to hide in this garden, pin the tail on the donkey – not Sid, of course - and we heard someone mention a water fight. Now THAT would be very silly because as we said, even though it’s mid summer here in the UK, it is still quite chilly.

We wish all our American friends a very happy 4th July for Monday -  and hope you have a wonderful time with your family and friends. Now we had better go and eat some of that lovely food. We wonder if Mr HCB is going to light a barbecue so that we can toast the marshmallows?
