Bee shortage

This morning our gas fire was removed to make way for a wood burner. We feel having several types of heat generating devices is the way to go. 

I was doing a spot of gardening this afternoon and bemoaning the lack of bees. I only saw two in the garden, this one emerging from the bee hotel. It is a tiny opening. Most of the cells are the size of the one on the left and this one is extra small but obviously worked for this type of bee. Then a bit later I heard buzzing round the agapanthus (extra). I have come to the conclusion that someone near us must have a delicious banquet of a garden that is distracting "our" bees :-))
