Conference.2

Today was a typical second day of the conference. The opening plenary wasn't going to be interesting - and was presented on-line - so I skipped it and had a leisurely walk to the University, through this attractive area of student accommodation where I've stayed a couple of times at previous conferences, and taking time for breakfast at a café on the way. I ended up valuing another talk on a subject I would normally spurn, and then missed a whole session due to having a long conversation with someone from industry who might want to pay us for work.

In the evening I went to eat with my PhD student and a colleague and, not wanting an hour's walk back in the rain, we returned by Uber.
