Sunrise
A lovely start to the day but raining again now! Tina was here this morning so I did a bit of tidying up of garage bits and bobs. Then I had a PPI meeting for blood test protocols for chronic disease (such as T2D). Interesting as the researchers are clinicians and the feedback from the work package was from GP surgery staff who had very different views of why patients might not have their tests/reviews or might by "hypochondriacs". Suffice to say we didn't agree and the consensus was that most of us had experienced arrogant or patronising attitudes, and lacked trust in GPs. That was described as eye opening to the lead researcher who is going to have another think about the next steps!
Pottered in the summer house, "pimped" it with lights, cushions, decorations and blinds. A blip for another day I think! I've set one chair up with the footstools and a blanket as a day bed where I can go when Mr T has his nap. Then a quick pre-meeting for my first social care project management group meeting tomorrow.
I had called the DN yesterday about Mr T as he was still having by-passing off the catheter, sediment and not his normal self. I was told if I didn't get a call back to assume all was ok. I was surprised to answer the door to a DN this afternoon. She had come to check the catheter and took a urine sample and kindly took it at tested it, passed it onto the GP who sent a text message to say he's prescribed antibiotics. I was suspicious but the standard symptoms weren't present, and it's harder to have people understand that I know the signs for Mr T (confusion, pain and sediment). He actually was a lot brighter today.
