Now, as I see it......

Harbour day

As usual on our first day in Symi, we spent most of the day around the harbour seeing what had changed (not a lot) and getting a few essential shopping items.  The harbour gets very busy through the day with several boatloads of day trippers from Rhodes but is calm and peaceful by late afternoon after the boats have left.  We saw a few people we knew, had a light lunch and then headed back to our accommodation to relax.  A few photos taken including this one looking across from one side of the harbour to the other.  Our accommodation is over the top of that hill in a mainly farming area, looking down to Pedi Bay, the next bay around from the harbour.

Symi gets it's fair share of super-yachts and we were once here when the Danish Royal Family were moored in the harbour for the evening.  Yesterday, when we arrived, was probably the 'superest' we have seen; the O'Pari.  It is a charter yacht which takes 12 guests in 14 cabins, with 29 crew to look after them.  If you fancy chartering it, it will cost you €1,000,000 a week.  It's worth a look at the link I added so you can decide if it's worth it.
