Finally! Leitz Telyt-V 280mm

I have been eyeing the Blue Jays in the big maple tree for years, but they are much too hyperactive for the likes of me: there's a flash of blue, and then they're in the next town over.  Not so today.  Editor and I were just about to sit down to lunch, when I saw the familiar  blue in the tree.  But this time, he was busy having a leisurely preen, wing to wing, no feather left behind…  I decided to try for it.  Came back with camera and huge lens, no time for a tripod. Hand-held it was.  I got off three shots before his ablutions were complete.  Two of them have some promise.  Here they are.  Note to self:  keep camera with huge lens on tripod in the window...
