Flat Iron
Always liked this building , known for it’s flat iron style it preceded the more famous one in Manhattan by twenty years.
Good to see it still standing as it was once bought by Leeds City Council to demolish to make way for a motorway, thankfully that didn’t happen,
Now used as offices.
This is the back of the triangular building, must do another view sometime.
Elaine and l had met in Leeds to go the the cafe in the building known as The Printworks, now part of a collage.
Really nice eating place and very reasonable, the food is made by the students there.
We walked back through a part of South Leeds l really know little about.
It is currently being extensively redeveloped.
We cut through one building site where the Art Deco building in extras is now an art gallery and restaurant, formerly the headquarters of Teltley’s a former brewery whose beer was synonymous with Leeds, now under the umbrella of an Australian brewing giant.
Was good to see some of the original buildings being incorporated into the new development.
The forecast was for isolated showers but the rain held of on our walk but there was a cloud burst as l got home about fifteen miles away.
