Noxious gasses

A woefully neglected corner of School Street. This building has been boarded up and weed infested for decades. The rusting pipe with the elaborate cap infront of it is a piece of Victorian street furniture which seems to be unique to Fraserburgh. It is a sewer vent designed to prevent the build up of noxious gasses in the sewage pipes running beneath the street. There are several of them in the town - all now defunct.
