The Tower
Today was a funny day. Running errands at lunchtime meant I had little chance to take any photos. Running an errand after work found me parked outside this interesting building. This is Icknield Street School in Hockley, Birmingham and it's been on the hit list for a couple of weeks now. You catch a tantalising glimpse of the tower as you negotiate the inner ring road but its not that easy to get up close to. Built in 1883 this is yet another design from the drawing board of J.H. Chamberlain, The building was created originally as a boarding school and has had various functions over the years but is now, sadly, derelict. The obvious feature is the tower which is, I believe, mostly clad in wood. And see if you can spot the seagull.
