Aubretia

I have always envied gardens that are full of mounds of bright purple Aubretia at this time of year. I remember as a child that my mother used to go round the garden with the dustbin lid using it as a template for trimming the clumps - and they were always such a deep purple! Mine is a bit better this year than it usually is but it's still fairly sparce. The problem is that I dont really know what to do with it after it has flowered.
Having not bothered with and seed propagation earlier this year I realised I needed a bit more colour in the garden so I popped down to B&Q this afternoon and bought a tray of pansies. Planting them will be tomorrows job if the weather stays the magnificent 22 degrees that it has been today!
