Water Boatman ( Notonecta glauca )

Lots of them in one of the ponds in Lincoln's arboretum , I was hoping to get one firing a water jet , but only saw in happen once while I was watching. Hope the species is correct, best match I could find on Wikipedia. Done for tiny Tuesday but does not fit the theme as this ias quite a large crop !
Cycled to the fabric quarter this morning to get some material for a mask to match my latest hat. Found a very vibrant material, background black but with very colourful sea weeds and sea horses on it .
Bought my ticket for the Steampunk weekend in Lincoln at the end of August, as I suspect it will be busy I will need suitable masks for the different outfits over the 4 days .
