Future promise

The grapes are growing and the figs are swelling. These are growing in a garden whose fig tree overhangs the street and there are usually some to pick in the autumn. I had to get the market shopping done in town very early as my tennis lesson has been brought forward to 10.30. There were only three of us so we got plenty of individual instruction. There were four of us at French conversation and we discussed cultural differences between the UK and France that can cause misunderstandings and problems and the different strength or vulgarity in the usage of common slang words that seem equivalent in translation between English and French but are not.
