"I guess I've been marking time"

I've had this little bookmark for about 17 years, it has turned and marked many a page over those years. It was given to me by some very dear freinds from a trip to France, it has great sentimental value to me.

I'm a sucker for sentiment, I think folk would be surprised by the little mementos I've kept over the years. There will come a day when I'm gone and someone will open this little box to find my little treasure trove, I wonder what they'd make of it. It's sad to think it'll just be tossed in the bin.

I see phtotgraphy as like a bookmark, each picture marking a page in the story of my life. I guess it's different these days with the majority of phtos being digital, it's not like yu can pull out the old photo albums and have a look through, the bulk of my pictures are stored on the pc and online, 10-20 years from now will they mean anything to anybody?
