On A Wing & A Prayer

Needless to say, we had our customary dramas on our journey today: a road closure on our drive to the airport meant a 30 minute detour; our plane was delayed by two and a half hours; when we did get on board the pilot informed us that if he wasn’t able to get a prompt take off slot he might have to divert elsewhere as Skiathos airport closes early (fortunately he did get us away quickly) but all the delays meant we didn’t land at Skiathos until gone 11 at night, too late for any ferry crossing to Skopelos!

As a result, we were taken by coach to the other end of the island to spend what was left of the night in a hotel there.
