Three more weeks until I get a car, which means quite a few more shots from my walk between Kearstwick and Kirkby Lonsdale, I suspect.
In the unlikely event that you know Kearstwick, you'll appreciate how absurd it is to describe myself as living on the outskirts - like saying you live just north of John O'Groats - but it takes me a few minutes to walk to this bridge in the centre of the small hamlet.
Looking at the signpost, both Killington and Kendal are a good ten miles away, so you can see there's not much about.
I've liked living here and the cottage is beginning to feel like home now but I almost feel like I should move before I get too settled. I need more room for the kids; there's just the one spare bedroom, that has to act like a dormitory. You know in The godfather, when they go to the mattresses? It's a bit like that.
I'm not a buddhist but I fully accept the philosophy that nothing lasts for ever - everything is temporary - so I'm going to enjoy it here while it lasts.
