A Secret Kept
A bacon sandwich with coffee and I set off for Plymouth, first stop was for exorbitantly price fuel and then on to Plymouth, it surely won’t be too long before the bridge/ ferry tolls rise as well.
I arrived at daughter Sarah and s-i-l Manolo’s house around midday, a coffee and a catch up before setting off for Plymouths Armed Forces Day.
First stop was the Crowne Plaza Hotel to catch up with grandson Luis who works there as a manager. A couple of beers and it was onwards you the Hoe, bizarre weather, intermittent periods of clears skies, hot sunshine and gentle breezes, with periods of strong wind, dark skies and torrential rain.
Mid afternoon and the news started to filter through that Falmouth’s bid to host next years National Armed Forces Day had been successful. This was something I had been aware of for almost a week but sworn to secrecy until the official announcement.
Now the hard work will start.
Caught up with a few friends on and around the Hoe, had a couple of beers and generally enjoyed the whole afternoon. Eventually after getting a final soaking we headed home by taxi. A hot shower, dry clothes and a beer and I was ready for my Chinese takeaway dinner.
Sarah and I chatted into the early hours.
Another Great Day
