Keep Calm....

and Carry On...Good Things Come to Those Who Wait...No Pain No Gain....Patience is a Virtue...

Motivational quotes are endless...if not always helpful...

I seem to be at a disadvantage in this role of "recovering patient".. I want to be a good patient, but Patience has never been my forté; waiting has never been my thing...and I have never been a fan of pain - no matter what the gain...so here I am, getting somewhat grumpy that things are not progressing as they should...and that I am still dependent on others...needing care-givers - even if only temporarily..

And, for the first time, I am seeing myself as an "old" woman..Like when did that happen? I wasn't "old" two weeks ago...yikes..and not only that, but an old woman needing care..and oh yes,  living alone with a cat!  How's that for a stereotype?

Speaking of my cat...Whilst I was lounging in the hospital, Maggie somehow transitioned into a "calm" cat...When I came home, I was met with a relaxed lifting of the head and an "Oh I see you are back - make yourself at home - I am busy napping - you can pet me later" look...Say what? No glares, no howls, no ears back...? Nope..Nada...

How did this happen? Maggie's canned cat food had been back-ordered and it seems that in my absence, it did not arrive in time. The vet offered her a substitute  - one with a  "calm" label?  Imagine that - they have calming food for cats? You can get "calm" in a can? Who knew? Methinks we may be switching Maggie to a new brand!  We shall have a whole new relationship!

I thought I would be up and ready to restart blipping by now, but getting out and about is taking longer can I thought..so I hope a photo taken from the sofa might be enough to keep me in the game...

I must thank blipper 59 for the recommendation of the book in the photo..I saw her journal posting a while back and ordered the book along with another by the same author and as I sit here waiting for recovery, it is providing some light reading, an escape and many chuckles..and it is the perfect time for me to be reading it!

My quote for now...   "Keep calm and this too shall pass..."
