Carolina Ruellia

Ruellia caroliniensis, or Carolina wild petunia is another of my favorite wildflowers. I forget completely about them until one pops up and then I am always delighted to see it.

The Seek app failed spectacularly today when I attempted to identify a dragonfly with it. It told me it was a Pied Paddy Skimmer - which might be fine if we were in "Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia (Peninsular Malaysia), Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Cambodia and Viet Nam." But no. What I am almost 100% sure it was is a female widow skimmer with darker than usual wing tips. I'll post it as an extra if any dragonfly experts feel like weighing in.
