Flowerdale

We are back at our Easter holiday destination today but with a work hat on.

This is the incredibly rough mountain side a little distance inland from Gairloch. As far as I know this is called Flowerdale though when I study the map there is a vast chunk of wilderness to the west of Loch Maree by the same name. Perhaps it all joins up.

It was extremely windy on the slopes today and I braced the tripod legs of the base station with a huge boulder for fear that it may topple over in the gusts. If you go large here you might just make it out. Standing unbraced in the wind I don't even think a hand held photo is possible regardless of shutter speed. This picture was taken during a short lull and with the assistance of a rock outcrop for support. Our site work continues here in the morning and it as an awkward tramp and climb with some heavy gear before we even get started again.

The hill in the picture is called An Groban.

I am doing this write up in a separate text editor as the image uploads. It is very slow here in the digs.
