Desperate message on the community WhatsApp this morning from a neighbour who suddenly had two big branches of the Ginkgo tree in her back garden. Once she realised the whole tree wasn’t coming to join them, and her cat was located living the good life in another neighbour’s kitchen, we made plans for a big clean up when her partner - the neighbourhood chainsawer was back.

Then much work, some consulting with TallGirl over how to medicate a poorly goldfish, and a leftovers lunch as MrB is too busy working upstairs to be lunch chef.

And later, after the rain stopped, we all pitched in to clear the fallen branches. Such a shame - it’s a beautiful tree.
