Backblipping... I took very few photos today and none are remarkable. It’s funny how much one’s memory is dependent upon photographs.

I do remember checking the pool first thing and seeing one of the local little lizards floating on its back. We started checking the pool the last time we were here in 2019 when there was a high mortality rate: four saved, four perished. So far this year we have found one perished and I was pretty sure this one was a goner.

But she pulled through! I scooped her up and she clung on to the net. She seemed pretty shaken up (I can be quite a sight in the morning), but with time, shade and a flat surface she survived. It was a delight to see her run away the next time I came by for a photo. Phew!

We also heard of the US Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade. I was reminded that Trump filled Supreme Court vacancies with like-minded people and we are now seeing the consequences. How we are still fighting for a woman to have control over her own body is beyond me.

Smash the patriarchy.
