Birthday Rose

Today is our son's birthday.  When he was born - 29 years ago! - we had just moved into our house. The garden had been neglected and was very overgrown but this rose bloomed through the brambles. John brought one of the roses into the hospital for me! It has always bloomed on Edward's birthday - this year it is spectacular. 

My afternoon was at the JR hospital for a beautiful baby boy born a couple of days ago. A lovely family bravely coping with their loss.
