Stanchions

My normal bus journey to work this morning took me through the centre of Edinburgh due to a missed connection. Gave me a chance to take this classic view but with the low sun the stanchions were particularly highlighted, drawing the eye away from the historical setting.

Made me wonder what Princes St will look like once the trams become operational. It is only in the past 12 months or so that I've begun to see hints of the overhead wires in the promotional material. I had better take a before shot soon to compare with an after one.
