We had an early bus to the airport so had grand plans to get up at sunrise and go for one last swim before we left.

We got up at 5am as planned, but hadn’t factored in the days being shorter so it was still pitch black. We decided against it, Matt went straight back to sleep but I didn’t manage it - did get to see the sunrise an hour later though.

The transfer went smoothly despite the morning traffic (I did worry briefly), and our plane was delayed but only by about 45 minutes. Had time at the airport to get some food. Slightly delayed on the tarmac at the other end too, thankfully luggage reclaim went much better than the news has been suggesting.

We were home by 3.30, popped out for some essentials, then got on with unpacking and washing. We had a takeaway for dinner, Oowee vegan - which I was super excited about, finally some good veggie food! We were in bed before it was dark outside.
