Discussions over breakfast

B, S and I sat chatting at the table after breakfast and got talking about the ‘ornaments’ that I have brought back from holiday / working trips over the many years.

S asked about the Russian nesting dolls that I bought in Moscow about 25 years ago. The largest is 15cms and number 10, the baby, is only 2cms. I did consider arranging them somewhere to photograph, but as they were just sitting on the table, I decided to leave them there to give a sense of scale.

The Matryoska dolls are just a tourist item, but remind me of a fascinating trip and lots on new things learned.

I spent ages this afternoon checking my laptop for the photos from the trip to identify the precise year, but couldn’t find them, they must be on B’s computer. I did waste lots of time looking at other trips.

After clearing the breakfast things, S helped me to pack the children’s quilts for posting to Canada. He bought some vacuum bags and we have managed to put two quilts in a bag and get two bags in the heavy duty postal bag. It weighed just under 5kgs complete. He is now in charge of arranging to get them there.

I’ve added pictures of the quilts in extras. I will know where to find them as a set in the future.
