National Museum of Scotland
After finishing my bowls game I hopped on the 35 bus all the way to the Central Library on George IV Bridge to pick up some library books. Laden with half a dozen books and my bowling kit I opted to catch the 35 bus home again from outside the Museum on Chambers Street! This extension to the library was designed by the architects Benson and Forsyth opening in 1998. The whole building is conceived by the architects as a keep surrounded by thick outer walls. The tower was inspired by pre-historic brochs and medieval castles.
