We brought the book and rose giving tradition of St. George's day from Catalunya to Rio today.

Dd presented me with an electronic version of Ruy Castro's book 'Rio de Janeiro'; he was one of the key figures in the development of Bossa Nova, as well as an accomplished writer on all themes with a daily column on Rio in the main São Paulo newspaper.

I presented Dd with some very real roses, still knowing what side my bread is buttered on!
