Today, I woke when I woke.

Hi Everyone,

Just a little update…

My daughter is doing well in her new home, and I have got use to being home alone again after having her here for around 5 months. Next week we should find out if her mum’s operation is going to go ahead and she will visit California to help her mum recover from the operation.

The YouTube malarky continues to grow by around 10 subscribers a week which is also good news. My videos are not cinematic epics so are quite easy to film and edit and not too time consuming. The passive income element of the process does indeed work albeit a small amount.

I have been working on a plan to make the workshop pay its way… I have been lucky enough to have found a backer until the end of July 2023. If I meet the targets, I will keep it running until 2025, otherwise I will sell all the machinery and windup everything. I now attend the workshop more like a job, which has been nice and given me more a sense of purpose also things to make YouTube videos about.

I went to Newport velodrome during the week to watch some cycling, which was quite enjoyable. Also, I don’t believe I have spoken about the trip to Spain in May which was good and there is talk about doing it again next year. There is one more cycling coaching exam I had planned to do but COVID put a hold on it, I have been thinking about booking in to do it, just a two-day thing and there is one quite close to home in January.

The reengaging with the world project sort of stopped whilst my daughter was with me, but I will try and get this moving again during the second half of the year as I think it was going me a lot of good. One of the elements of this project was to rationalize everything I own, including cameras. I was getting quite obsessive about getting a Leica monochrome, however that has passed (much to the relief of my bank manager) and now the Ricoh GR IIIx is in focus (excuse the pun).

Nothing else to report other than I hope you are all well.

Stay happy, strong, and healthy… more sometime.

POG,,
