I lived about 45 minutes from college but a majority of my closest friends lived clear across the state, in and around NYC. My mom was like a surrogate mother to them. When my she passed away in 2019, roommate friend sent me a gardenia in remembrance of her. It wasn’t until later that I found out she sent it because I never received it.
It’s a long story, but roommate friend decided she should send another. It would be larger than the original because she figured it would have grown since 2019.
It arrived yesterday and despite it not yet having flowers, will post it for flower Friday because the flowers, though unseen, are in my heart.
Good friends are like stars. You don’t always see them but you know they’re always there.
