The Dotterel Shepherd

Today we had an errand to run at Bridlington and every time I pass this roundabout I say I will blip it one day and today was that day.
This is the creation of Ronald Falck and is entitled " Shepherd and Sheep " . This stands on the roundabout of the A165 where it meets the B1229 outside The Dotterel Inn , Reighton , between Bridlington and Filey . The area was a regular stopping off point for Dotterels and hunters used to stay at the inn and go out shooting the birds over the nearby fields to sell their feathers to anglers . A hunter could expect to shoot 50 pairs in a season.

Another lovely day and another chance to sit outside in the garden and have our meal.
