Diverted

After an online meeting with a potential collaborator/funder, and more programming, today saw anothher multi-stop visit to Edinburgh. It began with lunch at Kauai with И and colleague M, who wanted to know about our software. I like M, and she's friends with И, so it was very pleasant. Then I went to our base in central Edinburgh for two MSc supervision meetings, making use of И's availability to help one of them with some technical issues. She was also interested to discuss the student's (Sudoku) project: another enjoyable moment.

After the second meeting, I was suddenly hit by tiredness, after a long and stressful week. I took a bus towards Cameron Toll, but it didn't take quite the route I expected, so I got off. Nearby there was a Turf zone I'd never visited and, when I got there, found that it was a war memorial with lots of these exceptionally coloured and scented roses. After shopping for Mum and visiting her I took the bus home.
