St George's Day
Celebrations for St George's Day were in full swing in Leadenhall Market at lunch time. I missed the Morris dancers but saw two St Georges amongst the drinkers!
Leadenhall Market is one of the oldest markets in London, dating back to the 14th century. It's a covered market in the historic centre of the City of London.
The flag of the City of London is the red St George's Cross on a white background, with a red sword the top left quarter. The sword represents the sword that beheaded Saint Paul who is the patron saint of the city (and of St Paul's cathedral).
