Grand day out!

Val Ruth and I spent a super day at Blanchland just about 30 minutes drive from here. I'd not been before, nor had Ruth. We would definitely revisit. It is small and very pretty. We had a coffee and an early ploughman's lunch in a lovely café which we couldn't fault. We followed this with a walk around the village with a visit to the abbey. A walk down by the river to watch little fish scuttling about followed by a long cool drink in the pub garden. A visit to a super little gift shop, which I would definitely revisit and then a quiet drive home. I was amazed at how quickly the four hours we were there had passed! We also did quite a lot of lovely catch-up chatter!
