Surprise meeting

Being on the river is such a great way to socially distance and take it easy. J canoes, I take photos. Today we head out from Boroughbridge again, heading south, before taking a virtually unused spur up the Swale. No sooner are the words ‘we might see something here’ out of my mouth, than we take a group of 17 goosander by surprise- and they’re off - as the blip shows. There are kingfishers here too - at least 3, but they escape the camera.
My best photos are the demoiselle, damselflies and river flora, I’ve done a montage, but the goosanders show a bit of ‘off the beaten track’ magic that was memorable today.
Took the P1000 onto the river today, I’m glad I did
