What a wonderful day on campus!

My first meeting of the day was an in-person PhD supervision with Rachel. We achieved so much while sitting next to each other at the table in my office. Rachel has almost finished all her empirical work and it's great to see her thesis develop. We planned the next stages of the rest of Rachel's write-up and discussed her future plans. I just feel so terribly sorry that Rachel has not had this experience of supervision throughout the whole period of her doctoral study.

My second meeting (this time online) was with Bruce about the Platform to platform project. This went well too, especially since we have now completed all the podcast series launch event follow-up tasks (including the publication of a 'big' blog post about the project), we have made all version 1 episodes of the Lorna Lloyd Diary of the war podcast series freely available online, and we have collected all the data for the empirical research associated with the project.

Then it was time for lunch with Rachel, Ben, and JP in our common room.

A short while later Bruce and Marianne came onto campus to discuss the coding of data for another of our current projects: Heritage organisations and podcasts: scoping study (HOPSS). This was also a fun face-to-face gathering.

The main event of the day was our first in person 'all centre' six-monthly meeting since 18th December 2019. All who participated this afternoon took their turns to give a 5 minute talk (maximum) on their recent research highlights. We used my huge egg-timer to keep everyone to time: see it on the right hand side in my blip of 29th June 2018. We also celebrated the success of those who could not make it by reading out the accounts of their research highlights sent to me in advance of the meeting.

Afterwards a bunch of us elected to continue our celebrations at Brew Dog. My blip shows the crowd gathered just before we set off from campus for the pub. Here are Peter, David B, David H, myself, and Katherine, with Bruce and JP behind us. David H and I were the first to leave. It will be interesting to find out how late the rest of them stayed out.

Exercise today: walking (16,643 steps).
