Flame Creeper
A long time ago (possibly eight years, maybe longer) we bought a plant from Arley Hall Nursery after admiring it in the Gardens there. We planted it and it grew a little and then stopped without reaching any height and flowering, before seemingly vanishing.
So it is a total surprise to see it suddenly weaving through a bush and flowering, with more to potentially come as it is now potentially heading up the adjacent perennial sweet pea which at ten foot high has itself grown well beyond its support.
It is a Chilean Flame Creeper/Nastursium. The flowers are an extraordinarily vivid red.
