Lose Threads

After spending all of 30 seconds debating how to begin this Blip, I suddenly lost interest and got down to brass tacks. Half-formed desperately comical thoughts of "wrapping up loose ends" or pithy ones of "how our lives are a bundling of individual fibers, overlaying each other into the complexity that becomes one beautifully woven life".

God. Shoot me now.

The Lovely Ange and I are still living in different cities. Our earthquake-broken house is now owned by the government and the insurance company combined. Let them do with it what they will; we're free!

The novelty of not needing to work past midnight on a house is still a novelty. As I get more energy back (a slow journey, that one) I may, or may not, fill in the missing Blips and everyone can see what the hell we've been doing since whenever. I'll give you a hint: it involves too many bent houses and too much DIY and too many hours of "Please hold, caller" with insurance companies.

We got through it all because adversity proves friendships. To paraphrase Forest Gump "that's all I got to say about thayit"

There may be a few more Blips popping up soon as I try out my new camera which is yet to arrive in the post, that I bought as a "Getting out of the Earthquake Quagmire" treat. So in the end we did well thanks to hard work, friends and luck. I will stop now before I loose the thread of my story.
