Shrewsbury Again

Mrs madwill had a call from Shrewsbury hospital early this morning to say that her brother’s condition had deteriorated significantly…so we hastily threw some bits in a suitcase, piled up loads of food for the cats, booked a hotel and drove down to Telford. We collected some stuff from his house and then went over to Shrewsbury to visit him in hospital and get some updates direct from the medical team there. We spent all afternoon at the hospital…

This little sculpture stands near the main entrance to the hospital…and represents a young girl and boy under a rainbow coloured umbrella. It is a memorial to the ‘Rainbow Unit’ which cared for children with cancer - the services were transferred to a hospital in Telford. Just a quick phone snap from the car window as we drove past.
